Don’t be fooled by the windmill…this story is about Norway! And it comes to me from my old chum Torstein Magelssen, manager for market communications & PR for Volvo trucks in Norway. Those two black beauties are very special beasts indeed as they are the first two FH16.750s to arrive in Norway with the extra-long (by 245mm behind the B-post) XXL Globetrotter FH cab which was originally developed for the Australian market—but is also sold in Norway on account of they have longer artic lengths. So the XXL-cabbed FH can couple up to a 13.6m trailer with no worries over there.

And naturally, a premier cab deserves a premier engine too so what better to go underneath the XXL cab than the 750hp 16-litre lump—making it the World’s Most Powerful Series Production truck too. Here are a couple of YouTube clips I shot when I first drove the XXL with a 660hp lump underneath it a year or so ago.

Meanwhile, Torstein tells me, “We just have got the very first FH16 750 demo-trucks in Norway, and they were driven here by my brother who is editor-in-chief of TransportMagasinet see http://www.tungt.no/transportmagasinet/article725110.ece.”
He also goes on to say: “We’re planning to do a press-event soon to mark the delivery of the 100th XXL in a few weeks! And now a customer in Austria wants to buy an XXL too!”
