SNAP launches bookable truck parking across Europe

SNAP, a digital service for truck drivers and fleets, is introducing bookable truck parking across its European network this summer.

The new feature lets drivers and fleet managers reserve parking spots ahead of time, which SNAP reckons will help ease the ongoing shortage of safe, legal rest areas.

“With over 200,000 drivers on our platform and partnerships with more than 800 sites, SNAP brings predictability and control to truck parking,” said SNAP MD, Matthew Bellamy.

The system is aimed at helping drivers find rest spots without the stress of uncertain availability. It also helps operators manage parking demand more efficiently. Fleet managers can book spaces online or through the intruck app, giving them more control over route planning and cost tracking.

“Our bookable technology is helping fleets plan more effectively and enabling site operators to manage capacity smarter,” Bellamy added.

Over the past six months, SNAP has seen a 6% rise in parking bookings, suggesting more hauliers are looking for guaranteed places to stop. This is especially important with tightening rules around driving hours and the push for better planning and compliance.

The booking system also gives site operators live updates on truck arrivals, helping reduce congestion and improve space usage. Operators can decide how many spaces to make bookable and adjust this based on demand.

The technology is already running at select sites, with a wider rollout planned along major freight routes in Europe. SNAP says setup for service partners is quick and simple, with no major disruption.

Drivers can access the new booking option through SNAP’s online platform or app.
