Chippenham Pit Stop extension complete
Chippenham Pit Stop has just served up a major investment that will stand in good stead its award-winning establishment for many years to come. The £300,000 injection into the business has led to a new, state-of-the-art and low-fat kitchen, now three times larger and which has new offices above.
The Pit Stop, just off Junction 17 of the M4 in Wiltshire, serves about 300 truckers a day and has scooped a trio of transport industry awards for its ongoing efforts to improve their stop-over experience. These include more healthy eating options, advice on combating illnesses likely to affect those who spend long hours behind the wheel, and on-site exercise facilities.
The new facility was officially opened in a red-ribbon-cutting ceremony by Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan. The Pit Stop says: “Michelle and other VIP guests later tucked into butties filled with the Pit Stop’s recently introduced and locally-sourced dry-cured bacon, produced without food colouring and nitrate preservatives, which have been linked to bowel cancer.”
