Daf all the way for family fleet

We do love a good news story here at T&D, so when this press release dropped into our inbox we decided the fleet was worth a full feature in an upcoming issue.
HTS Consett Limited is run by father and daughter team Garry and Louise Hopper and subcontracts for Elddis Transport doing Tautliner work.

Based in Consett, County Durham, the firm started trading in 2017 after Louise gained her Class 1 licence and teamed up with Garry, who has worked in the haulage industry for more than 40 years. Initially, their first vehicle was required to run day and night, seven days a week, so after researching their options HTS Consett went with Hexagon Leasing for a Daf XF.

The main cab features personalised artwork and is dedicated to the family’s football team, Newcastle United. Thanks to winning new contracts, HTS Consett has now expanded to a team of four and taken delivery of its second XF from Hexagon Leasing, with Louise back to driving full-time.

Louise is currently studying for her CPC Transport Manager certificate to allow her to run the business side of things alongside Garry and mum Janet, and is now planning the colour scheme for the third Daf, due to arrive later in 2019.
All of the graphics will remain the same as the other trucks but she is planning “a little twist on the design” to personalise it as her own and will continue to place them in truck shows.
