McBurney’s marathon man

Alan Melia drives for McBurney’s Transport and has set himself the arduous task of running the London Marathon! Alan is raising money for Meningitis Now, in memory of his niece Lola who passed away after contracting meningitis aged just 10 months. Alan tells T&D: “I asked my boss if the company could sponsor my official meningitis race shirt in return for putting its logo on there – and did so to the tune of £500! Adds Alan: “I had set myself a sponsorship target of £2000, and at that moment the total was sitting at £1510. So in doing so, McBurney’s has taken me to my target. The task now is to exceed it as much as possible through March and April.”
