New Merc Atego unveiled

_K0H0669sThe final piece in the Mercedes-Benz Trucks product replacement line-up has been revealed. Covering GVWs from 6.5 to 16 tonnes, the new Atego comes with a range of seven Euro-6 engines with nominal ratings spanning 156 to 300hp. Despite the lower emissions, Merc claim the new engines “consume significantly less fuel” and half the AdBlue compared with the Euro-5 equivalent. Other running cost savings include service intervals up to 120,000km. The standard transmission is the new automated PowerShift 3 with six or eight ratios. Stability Control Assist (ESP) is standard across the range, while secondary brake options include a 300kW engine brake and a wear-free electrical retarder. Heavily revised chassis, suspension, cab mounts and steering join new external styling and a fully redesigned interior to complete the changes.
