Lancashire-based Millers of Longton Ltd have taken delivery of its first-ever brand new recovery vehicle a Volvo FH16-750 6×4 rigid. Supplied by Thomas Hardie Commercials, Preston, and is equipped with a 40-tonne rotator fitted by Boniface Engineering of Thetford, Norfolk.

The company has carried out recovery services for Thomas Hardie Commercials over the past ten years, often using its Volvo FH12, which it purchased four years ago. “The FH12 is now 11-years old, but it has proved to be such a dependable workhorse,” says Jack. “Based on this experience and our relationship with Volvo it was really a ‘fait accompli’ that for our first-ever brand new truck we’d turn to Volvo.”

Since taking delivery,Director Jack Miller has been full of nothing, but praise for the FH16-750. “This really is a fantastic truck,” he says. “Everything about it is lovely. It’s a good truck to be in, a good truck to drive and I would say the 750 is ‘top of the game’ in terms of horsepower. In fact, ‘it does everything it says on the tin’.”
