Biglorryblogs hitting the roof with Millers and their new FE

One of the Midland’s largest roofing contractors and merchants, R S Miller Roofing Ltd of Brierley Hill, has taken delivery of a Volvo FE-320 6×2 rigid. Merchanting Director at the family-owned business, Nigel Sadler says: “We already have a Volvo FE that we bought back in 2012. We have been so satisfied with this truck that it simply made sense to invest in the new series Volvo FE when the need arose to bolster our fleet.”

The new Volvo FE 6×2 tag-axle substantially increases payload capacity over the company’s other vehicles. Chairman, Bob Miller says: “This truck will enable us to carry over 13-tonnes, which will dramatically reduce our time on the road. We’ll be able to load the truck for multiple deliveries in the day, without it necessarily having to return to base. This will make a big difference to us, enhancing our efficiency and reducing fuel consumption, which was a big consideration when it came to making this investment.”

The day cabbed FE is equipped with a 7.62 metre dropside body and rear-mounted PM Series-16 crane and scissor grab. Power is provided by the Volvo D8K six cylinder, 8-litre engine producing 320 bhp and up to 1200 Nm of torque. The nine-speed ZTO1109 manual gearbox was specified by RS Miller
