From lottery wins to spinal operations, learn about Sammy’s journey to Rocks Off, and how she made the DAF XF Space Cab she drives her own
After an interesting driving career Samantha Johnson, or Sammy for short, was hired by Scott Mealyou at Rocks Off Gravel earlier this year.
“It was hard to find someone who would let me take my dog Rex away with me but Scott was fine with it.” Rex is a Belgian Malinois and travels everywhere with Sammy in the Daf.
Sammy immediately started putting personal touches on the truck. “The bull-bar was one of the first things that came up in conversation with Scott,” she grins. She’s also added the curtains, interior mats and light board, along with a number of other little details.
“I wasn’t sure how I would get on with the Space Cab, but it’s spot-on. After my back trouble, I’m pleased to say I find the driver seat very comfortable – there’s loads of adjustment on the lumbar supports and the Daf’s driving position is superb.”
