Nicoll’s Landscaping adds new Isuzu 7.5-tonner to Highlands fleet

Nicoll’s Landscaping & Merchants, based in Nairn, has added a new Isuzu N75.190 to its fleet. Supplied by local dealer Elgin Truck & Van Centre, the 7.5-tonne truck comes with a Britt-Tip tipping body and a stainless steel lockable toolbox.
It’ll be used to support fencing jobs — both domestic and commercial — across the Highlands, from Buckie to Dingwall.
This is the fourth Isuzu in the company’s fleet, chosen for its solid payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity. That means the crew can bring everything they need in one go — concrete, timber, aggregates and all the tools — helping them get straight to work on site.
David Nicoll, managing director, said: “The payload we get from the Isuzu is phenomenal. Its compact footprint also gives us a huge advantage as we can fit onto just about any domestic driveway. That can be worth its weight in gold on some jobs, and it just wouldn’t be possible with many competitor chassis at this weight.”
It’s also the first truck in their fleet to be fitted with a lockable toolbox, which has apparently already made a noticeable difference. With tools safely stored on board the N75.190, the team no longer wastes time loading and unloading every day — saving about 90 minutes per shift.
Nicoll added: “The cost of the lockable toolbox has already been recouped through time savings. It’s brought a whole new level of efficiency to our operation, and it’s incredibly well built and keeps our tools safely locked away.”
The N75.190 also features a petrol-powered compressor mounted above the box, with airlines along the body to get pneumatic tools up and running quickly once on site.
“The Isuzu trucks we’ve had are bullet-proof, and the support we get from Elgin Truck & Van Centre is fantastic,” Nicoll concluded. “Together, it’s a perfect combination of a robust product which punches above its weight on payload, and a dealership which bends over backwards to support us.”
The new truck is expected to cover around 20,000 miles a year and will be maintained by Elgin Truck & Van Centre in Inverness.
