Tack on track at the World Crane Championships with HIAB

The UK’s entrant into the World Crane Championship recorded a personal best score at the third attempt but it was unfortunately not enough to defeat the reigning champion. Trevor Tack, from Beaconsfield, competed for the third time in the global finals at the IAA in Hannover, Germany, after securing his spot in the UK heat held at the Road Transport Expo earlier on in the year.

Despite Trevor achieving his best time so far, it was Andreas Öhman from Sweden who again reigned supreme, being crowned world champion for the second event running.

This year saw the introduction of a brand-new, eight obstacle course designed to separate the true pros from the amateurs, testing the contestants’ skills and precision at maximum speed. Trevor came in at 7th with a time of 2 minutes 37 seconds. It was reigning champion Andreas Öhman, from Sweden, who took the win for the second time with a time of 1 minute 53 seconds.

Trevor said: “I’ve had another unbelievable weekend with Hiab. I’ll definitely try and go for the fourth time. Hopefully, we can get a few more people involved next time round. It’s a great weekend, with a great group of people, and I’m looking forward to trying my luck again!”
