The Truck & Driver Podcast episode 5 is out now! We speak to Leanne Lyons, organiser of the Breaker Breaker truck show about the event and supporting the mental health of drivers

Episode 5 is available to download now. Dougie and Chris chat about the new MAN TGX, some upcoming events including Tip-Ex/Tank-Ex and an update on the recent incident where a woman crashed into Chris’s Foden.

Our guest this week is Leanne Lyons. Leanne’s husband David sadly lost his battle with mental health in 2018. Keen to do something to help other drivers with mental health issues, Leanne and her friend Lisa began the process of organising what would become the Breaker Breaker truck show, which took place at Nutts Corner in August last year. There’s now a date in the diary for 2020, Saturday 22nd August. Leanne explains all about the show, and other exciting and vital initiatives to help drivers, on the podcast.

On Saturday 21st March at 9am at Nutts Corner, BT29 4SJ there is a project with Breaker Breaker to spell out “TALK” or, if there is enough, “IT’S OK TO TALK” with trucks!  Check out the Breaker Breaker page for more details. Truck & Driver will be there too!

If you’re struggling with things, please know you are not alone and there is help out there. Breaker Breaker supports the Lifeline service in Northern Ireland, where you can talk confidentially to a qualified councillor, and gain access to follow up support.
