This year’s TruckNet UK annual charity auction has set a new record, raising £2,300 on the night for the Professional Drivers Foundation, which provides advice and financial help to HGV drivers in need. With a couple of items remaining to be sold separately online, including an LGV driving training course donated by Peter Smythe Transport Training it’s likely that the auction will raise around £3,000 in total for the volunteer-run charity.

The event, now in its 10th year, took place at Longford House in Cannock, Staffs, on Saturday 23 February. Approximately 50 drivers and TruckNet UK members attended, bidding on anything from flasks and books to branded jackets and watches.

Road Transport Media and Longford House supported the auction, with items being generously donated by Isuzu Trucks, Iveco, MAN Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Trucks, Michelin, Nynehead Books/Roundoak Publishing, Renault Trucks, Scania and Volvo Trucks.
