Volvo tipper competition winner revealed

The highlight of last night’s Tip-ex 13 Gala Dinner at Harrogate’s Majestic Hotel was the announcement of the overall winner of the competition to find Britain’s Best Volvo Tipper. The winner is Richard Jones of Carmarthen with his 2012 FM 450 6×4. The trucks condition belies that fact although little more than one year old, it has travelled nearly 70,000km carrying everything from asphalt to rubble on the narrow roads of West Wales. The FM, together with the FHs of the other two category winners, Michael Pugh of Morpeth, and Tom Nutt and Son, of Somerset, driven by Adrian “Lardy” Beal, was displayed on the hotel terrace during the Gala Dinner.
