Correction and apology: Truck & Driver June 22 Derek Heeps feature P42-48

We would like to inform readers of an issue with the Derek Heeps feature in the new June edition of Truck & Driver magazine.

The article was sent to press in error without the prior approval of the Heeps family who had not approved the copy as was the prior arrangement. There are some errors in the copy which are unacceptable and as Editor and writer of the feature that’s my responsibility – I would like to apologise to everyone at Derek Heeps for printing these incorrect details and for any inconvenience or upset caused.

We will be running a full correction and apology in the July issue of the magazine, and a corrected version of the June feature will be available digitally online here from Monday.

Again, I would like to re-iterate my unreserved apologies to Glen, Derek and all at the company – Dougie Rankine, Editor Truck & Driver

 

 

We stated that their new DAF XG+ was bought from one of the manufacturer’s new batch of demonstrator trucks. To clarify this, the truck has been bought brand new as a one-off by the company and was not part of the DAF truck fleet used for demonstration purposes.
