KATE AND THE CREAM – Reviewed and Rated
‘Stripped back, analogue recording and psychedelic’ states the publicity blurb. I thought weird-beard vegan and scheduled this for digital recycling, but SWMBO fancied trying it out. Glad she did. It’s multi-genre and, while a tad psychedelic in places, this is edgy, dramatic story-telling by Rosalie Cunningham and it’s accompanied by some rocky, dynamic guitars delivered by an accomplished multi-instrumentalist with bursts of jazz ensemble, piano, and even organ. It’s kinda Kate Bush meets a Pink Floyd/Cream hybrid. And while maybe it shouldn’t work, it does.
