Each locomotive weighed 100t. These were then transported using 11 extendable step frame and multi-axle conventional trailers approximately 500km to Riyadh.

Once on site at the client’s depot, ALE unloaded the pieces directly onto the tracks using two 300t cranes.

Andrew Spink, General Manager for ALE’s Saudi Arabia branch, said: “This is another rail project we have recently secured and executed in Saudi Arabia. The client was impressed that we could complete the scope safely in such a short time period.  By successfully completed the unloading in just one day, it demonstrates ALE’s  capabilities to handle and deliver a large shipment in one go.”
